Risk of adverse infant outcomes associated with maternal mental health and substance use disorders

This study aimed to evaluate the association of mental health and substance use disorders on the risk of adverse infant outcomes overall and by race/ethnicity and payer. Given the risk of adverse infant outcomes associated with mental health and substance use disorders across racial/ethnic groups and payers, our findings highlight the critical importance of policies and clinical guidelines that support early identification and treatment of a broad spectrum of mental health and substance use disorders throughout the perinatal period.

Project Report: In Tune: A podcast about music, mental health and wellbeing

This article describes the In Tune podcast series run by the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. The series discusses music and its relation to key factors affecting mental health, including social inclusion and community engagement, coping with stress, depression and anxiety, chronic pain, and psychological trauma as well as self-concept and memory. 

Project Report: Clinical and Genetic Studies of Hereditary Neurological Disorders in Mali

This project used focus group discussions, individual interviews and community meetings to explore stigma around hereditary neurological diseases in Mali.
