The University of Oxford welcomed international partners for the GLOW-CAT International Workshop, held from 11–13 March 2026 at the new Life and Mind Building, home to the Department of Experimental Psychology.

The three-day workshop brought together co-applicants, investigators and, collaborators from across the GLOW-CAT project, with representatives travelling from Chile, Japan, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and Iceland. As the inaugural internation workshop, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to meet in person to strengthen relationships, reflect on progress, and plan ongoing work towards delivering the project’s aims as set out in the Wellcome-funded grant.

A central focus of the meeting was fostering collaboration across countries and disciplines. Through a series of interactive workshops and discussions, partners explored key areas of the project, including the translation workstream, the role of expert reference groups, and the ongoing qualitative interview research package. These sessions encouraged open dialogue, knowledge-sharing and alignment across teams, helping to ensure that the project continues to move forward in a coordinated and impactful way.

Beyond the formal programme, there were opportunities to listen to a range of additional talks to showcase both other relevant work being done at Oxford by colleagues across the University and also to hear about other work being done by the teams in each of our partner countries.

There was also a guided tour of Oxford, a dinner at the Saïd Business School and a trip to Blenheim Palace. These moments provided a relaxed setting for partners to build connections and strengthen the sense of a shared, global community.

Overall, the meeting marked an important milestone for the GLOW-CAT project. By bringing together partners from each country, the workshop reinforced a collective commitment to collaboration and laid strong foundations for the next phase of the project.
